Innovative bespoke GRP Work Platform
Our team has completed the installation of a bespoke aluminium walkway with GRP open-mesh flooring for Armfield, a world leader in innovative education equipment and industrial R&D solutions for the food, pharmaceutical, and industrial sectors. This project was part of a new laboratory at Southampton University, UK. https://armfield.co.uk/
The access system sits 2 metres above ground over a 15 m long GRP tank and includes an aluminium walkway with 1100 mm high handrails, access stairs, and a 1.5 m wide platform with GRP grating secured to aluminium cross members using grating “M” clips.
The stairs were fully fabricated in our Mold, North Wales factory and shipped to the client’s premises, while the modular walkway was delivered flat-packed for easy on-site assembly. Designed to fit perfectly with the new installation, the walkway will provide safe access for monitoring laboratory processes.
Designed specifically to fit the client’s application, the access system featured self-closing gates at both ends for easy entry and exit to the platform. It also included work hatches within the GRP flooring, allowing the client to monitor and maintain the tank below.
