Creating a safe working environment is our highest priority when designing access equipment. Every system we develop begins with a single guiding question: what is the safest and most effective way for operators to work safely, efficiently, and without risk?
Jasper Products has recently completed another major GRP access platform installation — a 240‑metre raised walkway manufactured from high‑quality Glass Reinforced Plastic. This new train access system will support the local team in delivering cleaning and maintenance services on Southeastern Rails rolling stock at the Grove Park Maintenance depot in London, UK.
A key feature of the walkway is the series of self‑closing gates positioned along its entire length. These gates provide direct access to both passenger and driver doors at every carriage, ensuring smooth, unhindered entry to the train at all points. Most importantly, they eliminate the risk of operators falling onto live lines and significantly reduce the potential for human error, such as gates being left open or removable barriers not being replaced.
The full access system was manufactured at our facility in Mold, Flintshire, and delivered to site in modular sections. Each stanchion was individually engineered to accommodate variations in ground levels, ensuring a flat, even, and secure working platform throughout.
Installation was carried out by our in‑house team. Fabrication was completed on time, and installation was delivered on schedule to meet the client’s operational start date.
